In His Name Branding

In His Name Service Project Branding

Design created for the Global Service department of the Associated Students of Walla Walla University (ASWWU).

Logo needed to appeal to the college student audience, both for marketing and merchandising purposes. Color preference for red was expressed, and the central themes of reading and the iconic peaks of rural Nepal needed to be expressed within the logo design.

Logo was designed during my time as the Marketing Vice President for ASWWU, on behalf of the Global Service team.

Merchandise created included stickers and crewneck sweatshirts, all designed and ordered by working with vendors to ensure design integrity was maintained. Accompanying branding and suite of fundraising printables were also created, including informational flyers, thank you cards, event invitations, merchandise tags, and donation jar labels.

Vendors for merchandise included StickerMule and CustomInk.

Union Condensed free typeface used for logo and headings of accompanying deliverables, with Georgia typeface for copy and secondary titles.

Brand standards sheet for Global Service department designers to utilize during creation of weekly deliverables.

Each academic year, ASWWU Global Service chooses a service project to support with fundraising and mission trips. For the 2018-19 academic year, Global Service chose to partner with the non-profit organization Room to Read to implement its literacy program in an elementary school in Nepal. The project was called In His Name on the WWU campuses.

This project was a joy to create and to see the mission of the project fulfilled throughout the academic year. Project goal of raising $35,000 to fund books and learning resources for students of the Nuwakot community in Nepal was exceeded.

In Mark 9, Jesus shared an important truth with his disciples. “Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, ‘Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.'” We believe that one of the best ways to spread Jesus’ love is to empower these children, opening doors and building connections for a brighter future, In His Name.
